Brian grew up in Bras d’Or, Cape Breton and graduated from Memorial High School in 1998. He then went on to graduate with a Kinesiology Degree concentrated in Sports Rehabilitation at Acadia University in 2003, before completing a Physiotherapy Degree at Dalhousie University in 2006. Brian returned home to Cape Breton in 2007 and has worked in a variety of different settings including: primary physiotherapist for Cape Breton University Athletics, hospital inpatients & outpatients, as well as private practice.
Over the past 10 years Brian has taken many post graduate courses including: Advanced Manual Therapy, Shirley Sahrmann Movement Impairment Disorders, Biomechanical Dry-needling, Acupuncture, Concussion Management, Vestibular Rehabilitation, Temporomandibular Joint Disorders (TMD), Chronic Pain Management, Running Injuries, Athletic Taping and Kinesiotaping.
Brian is the co-owner of Cabot Physiotherapy and is passionate about providing excellent service and care to the community he grew up in – Cape Breton!

Melissa is a Cape Bretoner, growing up in Glace Bay. Following high school in 2000, she attended Dalhousie University in Halifax, NS where she obtained her Bsc Kinesiology and BSc Physiotherapy degrees. Graduating from Dalhousie in 2006, Melissa began her career as a Physiotherapist in Yarmouth, NS.
Melissa returned to Cape Breton in 2007 where she has worked as a Physiotherapist in a variety of settings including private practice, hospital and rehabilitation facilities.
In order to provide optimal patient care, Melissa has taken many post-graduate courses including: Acupuncture (Acupuncture Foundation of Canada Institute), Neuro-developmental Therapy (NDT), Advanced Manual Therapy, Shirley Sahrmann Movement Impairment Disorders, Advanced Treatment of Runners, and Kinesiotaping.
Melissa has a keen interest in the field of Neuro-Physiotherapy and focuses her practice working with clients with neurological disorders.
